Join NPR and WRVO online this Wednesday, November 13 for live coverage of the public hearings of the House Impeachment Inquiry. House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff has announced the first public hearings of the House Impeachment Inquiry into President Trump. The public hearings will begin on Wednesday with Ambassador William Taylor, the acting U.S. ambassador to Ukraine and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State George Kent to testify. Live hearings will continue on Friday, November 15 with testimony from former Ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch.
William Taylor, the acting U.S. envoy to Ukraine gave a deposition to House investigators on November 6, which is availablehere. In his deposition he told members of Congress that he voiced his concerns to then-National Security Adviser John Bolton and in writing in a cable to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in regards to President Trump’s request for investigations into former Vice President Joe Biden from Ukraine’s president.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of State George Kent, who is also set to publicly testify on Wednesday, gave his deposition to the House investigators on November 7. In his deposition, Kent told investigators that the White House picked “three amigos” -- diplomats Gordon Sondland and Kurt Volker, and Energy Secretary Rick Perry -- to run Ukraine policy.

On Friday, November 15, former Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch will testify in the public hearings. In her House committee interview from November 4, Yovanovitch described being recalled from her post in Ukraine as a “concerted campaign” against her. Read her testimony, as released by Congress.
